Elivagar was a black metal band based in Phoenix, Arizona. I was a guitarist for the band from 2014 to 2017.
Ultimately I realized that the live band life isn't for me. All of the stuff that comes along with being in a band (marketing, merch, scheduling, tickets, hauling gear) wasn't what I loved about music and led to my cordial departure. Though I prefer keeping it strictly a hobby, I don't regret my participation at all. I loved my fellow members and still hold them in the highest regard despite having seperated myself from the metal scene in general. We had some good times for sure.
We weren't good at being a band in the business sense. We didn't record all of our songs, never finished our album, didn't put them on the various streaming services, didn't have a website, etc. We wanted to do all of those things but never did. You know how that goes. But I'd like to think that maybe somewhere out there someone is wondering whatever happened to that cool local DSBM band they saw play years ago.
Since there's so little evidence of our existence out there, I've decided to scrape together what I could in my files and put it here. If you're not a black metal fan, I realize how unpleasant this genre sounds to most people. I assure you that I love "normal" music just as much, but I won't apologize for liking this too!
